Adamovske Strojirny, A.S. (Adast), a Czech sheetfed press manufacturer, has filed a petition for bankruptcy. The company will continue to operate while its management negotiates for interim financing.

Global Graphics SA, Pompey, France, has agreed to sell its hardware business to senior management led by the division's chief operating officer, Gary Jones, who earlier had resigned as a Global Graphics board member. The company will keep its software division.

Heidelberg USA, Kennesaw, Ga., says its NexPress 2100 digital color production press will be installed at select Sir Speedy centers around the U.S. for on-the-job testing and qualification. Sir Speedy, which has been involved in the development of the NexPress for more than two years, is a franchiser that, with PIP Printing, Inc., operates more than 1,100 centers in 23 countries.

MAN Roland Inc. has announced that it is moving its Parts and Supplies Department in Middlesex, N.J. to a new facility near its headquarters in Westmont, Ill. The move expected to be completed by early summer.

Sun Chemical Corporation, Fort Lee, N.J., plans to buy the Bushy Park, S.C.-based organic pigments business of Bayer Corporation.

Matrix Serviços de Logistica, a new distribution company in São Paulo, Brazil created by R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company's Latin American subsidiary and Directory Distributing Associates, Inc., won a four-year contract with Listel, a BellSouth company, to deliver about 15 million telephone directories throughout Brazil.

TechStrand, a Lansing, Ill.-based manufacturer of stitching, double-loop, and spiral binding wire for the bookbinding industry, has achieved ISO 9001 status.

Colonial Press International, Inc., Miami, celebrated its 50th year in business by buying a six-color, 16-page Rotoman web press from MAN Roland.

Carter Printing Company, Richmond, Va., has installed a six-color Mitsubishi Model 3F-13 40" sheetfed press with a DiamondLink III automated makeready system and CIP3 server.

Apex Graphics, Mississauga, Ontario, has purchased an H+H/G&K outsert folding system from Vijuk Equipment, Inc.

Concord Litho, Concord, N.H., has purchased a seven-color KBA Rapida 162 64" press with perfector and in-line aqueous coater.
