Willamette Industries, Inc., Portland, Ore., signed a merger agreement last month with Weyerhaeuser Company, Federal Way, Wash., to create a $19 billion forest products entity. Weyerhaeuser said it would pay $55.50 per share in cash for all outstanding shares of Willamette. The transaction is valued at $6.2 billion; Weyerhaeuser also will assume about $1.7 billion of Willamette debt.
Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, N.Y., has finalized its acquisition of San Diego, Calif.-based wide-format ink-jet printer manufacturer Encad, Inc. to form Encad, Inc., a Kodak Company.
Adobe Systems, Inc., San Jose, Calif., has announced that it will acquire Ottawa, Canada-based Accelio Corporation, a provider of Web-enabled solutions designed to manage business processes driven by electronic forms. The acquisition is valued at $72 million in Adobe stock.
Presstek Inc., Hudson, N.H., has announced that Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA), Würzburg, Germany, has assumed the distribution rights for the 46 Karat press in the United Kingdom. KBA now will distribute the 46 Karat in Latin America and all of Europe. Meanwhile, Xerox Corporation, Stamford, Conn., will no longer distribute the DocuColor 233 DI press in the U.K.
WS Packaging Group, Algoma, Wis., has announced its acquisition of Blake Printery, San Luis Obispo, Calif.
