'Webinars' Share Agfa Expertise on CTP
Staff -- graphic arts online, 2/1/2002
Through the use of innovative Internet conferencing technology, Agfa is offering free on-line seminars—which it refers to as "Webinars"—to enable printers and prepress professionals to share expertise regarding technical, financial, service, and training issues involved in a profitable implementation of a computer-to-plate (CTP) workflow.
"We want to offer small to mid-size printers the practical information they need to assure a successful transition to CTP," says Agfa's Dave Costa, vice president of output systems, worldwide. "Several years ago, users faced a limited choice of CTP technology as well as the requirement of a large capital investment. Today, there are more options as well as experience to draw on, and these on-line seminars are designed to help printers understand those options."
The first two hour-long Webinars, on CTP technology and implementing CTP workflows, are being held weekly until early March.
Moderating the seminars is Rick Littrell of Littrell & Associates, who has more than 20 years of experience in the use, development, marketing, and support of CTP systems. He will be joined by prepress consultant Brian Alterio, Agfa workflow specialist Michael Jahn, Agfa plate specialist Tony King, and Agfa systems engineer Dave Romano.
