Wide-Format Printing Market

Editor:

I came across your Web site [gammag.com] during a search for information about the digital printing market. I am looking for any information on the wide-format digital printing market:

1. Size of the market (in the U.S., and preferably the world).

2. Total market value in U.S. dollars.

3. Any forecast for changes in the next few years, plus how the market changed since the beginning of 2000.

I sincerely appreciate your help.

Keren S, MD Printers Ltd., kerens@matan.co.il

Wide-format imaging was the cover story of our November 2001 issue (page 32), written by Joann Strashun Whitcher, project editor.

A number of market research companies study this subject, including CAP Ventures (capv.com), Norwell, Mass.; IDC (idc.com), Framingham, Mass.; and I.T. Strategies (it-strategies.com), Hanover, Mass. Also, the Graphic Arts Marketing Information Service (gain.net) has commissioned a study of digital color wide-format printing, to be completed by PrintCom Consulting.

Seeking a Stitching Solution

Editor:

I am the bindery manager in the digital division of the world's largest financial print company. We operate one facility and are looking for a solution to our saddle stitching needs.

The current marketplace is geared toward traditional print and finishing needs. I am looking for a manufacturer that may already have—or can create—a bookletmaking machine that can run, fold, gather, stitch, and three-knife-trim books of up to 200 pages. Our sheet size at present is 17x11", folded and trimmed to 8 1/4x10 3/4".

There is huge potential for growth in this end of the financial world. Please contact me via phone, fax, e-mail, or regular mail.
