Color Control Software
Agfa has announced that QMS Quality Management Software has been integrated into its six-color AgfaJet Sherpa digital color proofing system. Developed for contract proofing, QMS assures identical results from Sherpa to Sherpa, claims the company.
Agfa also has announced the release of its ColorTune Pro version 4.0 color management software, which automatically compensates for differences in color ranges among input devices, monitor, printer, proofer, and press, say company officials.

Cross Fittings
Ark-Plas Products, Inc. has introduced a 1/4" barbed cross fitting that features four self-sealing barbs placed at 90° increments from an easy-to-grip square base. Self-sealing "sharp" barbs have been tested to hold up to 125 psi without the use of clamps or ties, says the company.

Enhanced Papers
Curtis Fine Papers has announced the availability of its Curtis King Cast Coat line of papers. Featuring high gloss and an ultra-smooth surface, the company says that an improved brightness level of 91 and blue-white shade afford superior color brilliance and image contrast. No special inks are required for use with the papers, which are available in eight-pt. cover to 20-pt. folding board.

Print Job Estimate Software
Graphisoft has announced that it will demonstrate at the Print 01 event in Chicago next month its Estiprint print estimate software, along with the company's Print to B e-commerce solution.
Estiprint, which offers robust print job estimate calculation capability for $3,000, is available in English, German, French, Dutch/Flemish, and Portuguese. Print to B is a new solution for printers wishing to propose on-line estimates to clients. The service is accessible via a printer's Web site, where prices are set specifically for a given customer.

Tubing Pumps
Barnant Company has released its Easy-Load tubing pumps, which feature no wetted parts and operate on the progressive cavitation principle of a roller assembly precisely dosing fixed amounts of media through the tubing. Suited for use with inks, adhesives, and coatings of all types, the company says that the tubing is available in many materials to handle solvent-based, water-based, and UV materials.

Bunting Magnetics Co.'s web protector magnets provide dependable, economical protection against damage from ferrous metal debris, claims the manufacturer. The offerings, which are easy to install and require no electrical hookups, say company officials, mount just above a web press paper feed to capture and hold all types of ferrous objects (from hand tools to metal fragments) before they can damage either the paper web or the press itself.

Paper Cutter
Cutronix Technologies, Inc. has introduced its new line of Fivestar computerized paper cutters. The offering features double pull arm cutting action, an overhead leadscrew with cylindrical guide, and center-actuated clamping. The company says that knife changes are fast and simple via a crank-down elevator system; the knife change holder design also protects the operator during knife changes, says Cutronix Technologies.

Arjobex has made available a swatchbook detailing the company's line of Polyart synthetic paper. Manufactured from polyethylene film, Polyart is designed for use with all printing and finishing techniques, says the company. FDA-approved for direct food contact, the paper is resistant to water, tears, temperature variations, grease, and most chemicals.

Colorbus has introduced its new Cyclone digital proofer for newspapers. Providing both remote and local digital contract proofing, the offering features the company's new Color Engine Technology. Says Colorbus, Cyclone delivers a RIPped and printed broadsheet page in under seven minutes, supports perpetual printing (simultaneous RIPping while printing), and outputs the required format at any stage of production without requiring a page to be built.

Flatbed Cutter
Roland DGA has introduced its CT-304 flatbed cutter. Able to cut materials as thick as .98", the machine features tangential cutting technology with a maximum down-force of five kg and work area of 47.24x35.4". The servo-controlled machine has three standard cutting heads (two tangential and one pen/swivel-drag), while a stainless-steel belt drive assures precision cutting while preventing overshoot and warp, says the manufacturer.
