PagePath Technologies, Inc., Aurora, Ill., has introduced enhancements to its MyOrderDesk solutions for Web-based print job submissions.
The Windows- and Macintosh-based solution provides private-label submission services that include easy job and file transfer, automatic file compression, customer job tickets, soft proofing of files on line, job status, easy retrieval of jobs and files, instant notification of job arrivals and proof approvals, and a product catalog.
A new trial package offers a "test drive" version, while the extended package is aimed at large users that need very large file storage space and require hundreds of order forms customized for individual clients.
MyOrderDesk can be used as a complete, standalone Web site or added to a print shop's existing site, says the company. Installation takes about 10 minutes and requires neither technical expertise nor an on-site server, only a Web browser and e-mail account.
To permit print providers to quickly offer Web-based job submissions and avoid the hassles of corrupted e-mail attachments, Xerox is bundling demos of MyOrderDesk with all DocuTech Production Publishers. Xerox is the exclusive distributor of MyOrderDesk among printer manufacturers.
MyOrderDesk has a one-time sign-up fee of $300 to $600. Thereafter, on any day that the system is used for a transaction, the print shop is charged a $1 to $9 fee for the day, not for the transaction. If it is not used, there is no charge.
