George, a Printing Arts America company located in Brisbane, Calif., has announced that it will close its Abbey Press facility in Oakland, Calif. by the end of the summer.

International Paper, Stamford, Conn., has acquired Nextier Solutions Corporation, an Irvine, Calif.-based developer of Web-based collaborative commerce solutions for the paper, catalog, and magazine publishing industries.

Relational database developer C.P. Gauger, Inc., Milwaukee, has purchased General Graphics, a Milwaukee-based graphic arts and publishing firm.

Printable Technologies, Inc., Solana Beach, Calif., has acquired core assets of four-year-old print e-procurement company Collabria, San Mateo, Calif. Just days prior to the deal, the latter let go of all 100 of its employees and terminated its services as a result of a lack of funding.

Sun Chemical Corporation, Fort Lee, N.J., has announced that, through its toner manufacturing company Coates Electrographics, it acquired the bulk toner manufacturing business of Turbon International Inc., York, Pa.
