Sandy Alexander generates buzz for printing Ubisoft game insert
Sandy Alexander, Clifton,
NJ, printed the advertising
insert for the launch of of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed II video game. The piece
generated lots of buzz among gamer blogs with Jake Gaskill of G4tv.com describing
the piece as "the single greatest piece of video game print advertising I have
ever seen."
The four-page ad spread is appearing in the November issue of GamePro and the December issues of Official XBOX Magazine and Playstation: The Official Magazine.
One of the highlights of the piece is a tearing off the head of the "King", one of the characters in the game. Reviewers of the ad noted that it added a multi-sensory component to the video game promotion, as they could hear and feel the tearing. Sandy Alexander's Hugh Haas and Jeff Michael collaborated with Cutwater (the agency for Ubisoft) to create the insert.

In April, Sandy Alexander printed the first ever mix and match cover for Esquire Magazine which featured the faces of George Clooney, President Obama, and Justin Timberlake, among others. Sandy also printed a Gap piece that achieved one of the highest levels of recall ever achieved in a print advertising campaign.
