  • New Press to Paramount

By Lisa Cross -- Graphic Arts Online, November 1, 2009

Paramount Performance Marketing, KBA Rapida 75The KBA Rapida 75, newly installed at Paramount Performance MarketingParamount Performance Marketing, Jacksonville, FL, installed a 6-color, 29´´ KBA Rapida 75 sheetfed offset press to support its move into short-run printing production. Paramount offers offset and digital printing, PURL marketing campaigns and election ballot printing.

Last year the company changed its name from Paramount Printing, marking a five-year effort to expand technologies and services. Paramount moved beyond its offset offerings to include digital printing, direct mail, fulfillment and services that leverage the Internet for customers. It prints personalized direct-mail pieces and develops and hosts personalized URLs tied those printed pieces. It also offers online digital storefronts, printing jobs from clients' internal operations and from the public at large.

“The press will give us the ability to produce shorter run lengths—as low as 200 pieces—that are cost-effective and on lighter weight sheets with better quality,” says Jon Cummins, CEO (shown). The press will also speed turnaround, Cummins says. “Our online storefront service allows our customers and their customers to order print products on demand, thereby reducing their print inventory. We now offer personalized, customized pieces on the new press that we couldn't offer before.”

Founded in 1912, 30-employee Paramount Performance Marketing operates in a 20,000-sq.ft. facility. In addition to general commercial work, Paramount says it also specializes in election ballot printing, producing millions of ballots in thousands of formats for clients nationwide. It is also certified to produce scannable paper ballots for all three major optical scan voting machine manufacturers—Election Systems and Software (ES&S), Premier Election Solutions and Sequoia Voting Systems. The company is also part of the Jacksonville Lean Consortium, a group of local businesses that are committed to lean business practices.
