Quad/Graphics Invests in Digital Publishing
Printing giant will market Yudu Media solution to magazine and catalog clients as Quad/Graphics Digital Edition.

Quad/Graphics, Sussex, WI, became a minority shareholder in London-based Yudu Media and will market the digital publishing firm's solutions under the name Quad/Graphics Digital Edition.Yudu provides digital publishing products to magazine, newspaper, catalog and book publishers.
The digital editions, which replicate a printed product, include feature enhancements including video, audio and Flash-rich active media. The product offers infinite zoom, search and archive functions; bookmarking and reader page notes; digital catalog order forms (that integrate and connect directly to a shopping cart); digital rights management; third-party subscription/payment; and one-click page printing. "Digital publishing does not replace ink on paper, but rather enhances it," Joel Quadracci, Quad/Graphics president and CEO says. The partnership will also facilitate Yudu Media's expansion into the U.S. market. Richard Stephenson, Yudu CEO, says, "This is a key moment in Yudu Media's history. Quad/Graphics will deliver the Digital Edition via a url link to the publisher, catalog marketer or advertiser to post on Web sites or include in email or other e-commerce efforts.
