Digital Maps for Valassis

Insert and direct mail printing giant Valassis will use Tele Atlas digital map data to power the distribution of its print, electronic, door-to-door and newspaper marketing services. The printer will use Tele Atlas MultiNet digital map platform to identify custom carrier routes for its RedPlum products—a new consumer direct mail coupon product, with a Web component. (

RedPlum products reach over 100 million households each week, says the company. The tool will provide a cartographic representation of United States Postal Service (USPS) carrier routes and deliver the most current information available, including changes, additions and deletions as determined by the USPS. This product allows Valassis to define areas for direct mail planning and target markets.
"Location intelligence is being used today to improve efficiency in marketing and with precise map data, companies can better match their goods and services to the appropriate audience," says John Cassidy, VP enterprise markets, Tele Atlas.
