Print Leaves Mark On Earth Day

Print will make a big impression on tomorrow’s Earth Day celebration as printing companies host events and announce new green products. Grand River Printing & Imaging, Belleville, MI, will hold an Earth Day event titled
at the Detroit Zoo Ford Educational Center.
Retail giant Macy’s will mark Earth Day by shifting to handled shopping bags made from kraft paper and 30% recycled material; the former ones were laminated and not recyclable. Macy's uses more than 43 million handled shopping bags annually.
Last month, environmental superhero, “Michael Recycle,” hit bookstores. The colorful, hardback children’s picture book comes from Worthwhile Publishing, a division of San Diego-based IDW Publishing, which specializes in comic books.
