ROCHESTER, N.Y., Dec. 10—Prestone Printing of Long Island City, N.Y., a full service print, fulfillment and graphic service company, recently installed the KODAK INSITE Storefront System to help integrate its offset and digital printing divisions. With KODAK PRINERGY Software already in place, the INSITE Storefront System helps Prestone automate the direction of incoming print jobs to the most appropriate device and adds real value to the process for its growing customer base.
“For us, the INSITE Storefront System helps maximize our investment in digital printing and makes it easier for us to stay flexible and respond to the needs of our customers,” said Rob Adler, President of Prestone Printing. “By automating premedia functions such as preflight and distilling of PDF proofs, we are able to save our customers money. And by facilitating file downloads and proof approvals, we can save our customers time and effort.”
The INSITE Storefront System is designed for use in conventional, digital and blended production environments, and offers everything printing companies need to support online ordering. With the capability to handle new orders or reorders of existing material, the INSITE Storefront System provides catalogs from which customers can order books and manuals, business identification products (such as business cards and letterhead), and collateral. The system can be customized with the company’s corporate branding and a flexible pricing engine; provides several types of online payment options; is localized in 15 languages; and includes job tracking capabilities for customers and the printer’s production department.
Family run for 55 years, Prestone Printing is one of the 250 largest printers in the United States. The company occupies approximately 55,000 square feet and has invested more than $20 million in equipment and software over the years. Members of the ownership team work alongside the staff of more than 100, overseeing everything from sales and prepress to printing and finishing on a daily basis.
