O'Neil Data Systems near Los Angele shows off its 80-foot long, 30-inch wide four-color HP inkjet web line with two vertical dryers and ink that comes in 55-gallon barrels. The scale and scope of the installation is striking, as are the applications for the parent company: books, periodicals, direct mail, and possibly demographic portions of Investors Business Daily. The installation is the first of several beta sites (Taylor Corp., Courier, Consolidated among them) f

or HP's Inkjet Web Press using its scalable inkjet printhead technology. The June issue of Graphic Arts Monthly presents two photo spreads highlighting the installation. You can also see O'Neil's four-color inkjet web printing press, including close-ups of the printing head arrays, web festoons and the printing ink facility in GAM's digital edition.
