Mailing Rates for Publications
By Graphic Arts Online Staff -- Graphic Arts Online, July 6, 2007
Attention periodical printers: New mailing standards and prices for periodicals mail will be implemented next Sunday, July15th. Documentation must include new bundle and container reports. Mailers may request an exception to these reporting requirements from their local business mail entry manager. (Make requests in writing and state that all containers and bundles are accurately reported and paid on their postage statement.)
Under the new automation-compatible (machinable) flats rate structure, if mailings are prepared without the newly required 5-digit and 3-digit scheme preparation, the mailer pays the applicable rates for the actual number of bundles and containers prepared.
Printers entering mailings at Post Offices supported by the USPS's PostalOne! System can submit domestic postage statements using a secure Internet connection. (All that is needed is a logon ID.) For additional information, go online and click "New Customers--Apply for a PostalOne! account." If you have questions or need assistance, contact the Post Office where you enter your mailings and/or click "postage statements" at the U.S. Postal Service Website.
